
Who We Are?
Khatoon e Jannat Azadari Council of Jersey City, New Jersey, USA was founded in 2011 and created to serve the needs of the Shia Muslim community in the greater Jersey City area. The population consists of a rich variety of people and has been geared to serving the community for decades with cultural, social, and educational services. The various programs offered in English and in Urdu seek to satisfy the needs of the mumineen of Jersey City in specific.
The Khatoon e Jannat Azadari Council founded Khatoon e Jannat Center in 2016, and has been renting space to serve the needs of the community since then. It is serving the needs of the Shia community since then on a consistent and regular basis, by offering weekly programs for Thursday night duas, Salat al Jumuah, milad programs for all the wiladat and majaalis for all shahadat of Ahl al Bayt.
As an integral part of Jersey City, the center seeks to connect the community to the leaders of the city at large and the state through establishing strategic partnerships with all communities in the city and the state. Khatoon e Jannat center has worked both at the local and the state level for the creation of Muslim awareness month and the establishment of the annual Muharram juloos for the aseeran e Karbala.
